HKI is seeking a Finance Manager for its Sierra Leone Country office who will be responsible for all financial operations and reports to the Deputy Country Director, Operations.
Scope of Work
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the adherence of the Sierra Leone country office to HKI and donor financial policies, procedures and practices and ensure that accounting, reporting and operating information are complete and reliable for use by country, regional, and headquarters management. S/he will work with internal/external auditors to review all financial records and ensure that issues raised are addressed and resolved in a timely manner, and provide training and support to all country office staff on financial policies, procedures and practices.
Specific Responsibilities
· Prepare, review and/or approve all internal and external financial reports;
· Ensure the accurate and timely capture of financial data;
· Ensure receipts and other working papers are properly filed;
· Manage all bank accounts;
· Work with the Country Director, Project Coordinators, and sub-offices to create and revise the annual, monthly and project budgets;
· Create and submit Wire Transfer Requests to the Country Director for approval;
· Supervise sub-grant management;
· Analyze and monitor all grants and advise Project Coordinators of necessary spending actions;
· Assure, review and make tax payments with the approval of the Country Director in timely manner;
· Prepare country audits in accordance with regional office and HQ directives;
· Execute all other tasks as assigned by the Deputy Country Director.
Experience and qualifications
· A degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Diploma graduate or CPA preferred;
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in management of financial services; experience in Financial management with international NGOs is preferred;
· Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook; Prior experience with computer accounting/finance systems (and QuickBooks in particular), a strongly preferred;
· Experience with international organizations, NGOs and other local development agencies;
· Good oral and written communication skills in English.
